CDRead 1.0.2 - When I develop multimedia CD-ROM titles, I have to make sure they can be played on various configurations (including CD-ROM drive speed). The minimum requirement is double speed CD-ROM drive. Frequently, my director movies and quicktime movies look fine in my hard disk, but after I put them in a CD-R, they donﾕt. Their ﾔaverageﾕ data rates are below 300K, but they are not constant. So I adjust my movies then make another CD-R. Unfortunately CD-R is not cheap. You can test movies easily, and save my time and money. CDRead is very simple and easy to use. Just put it in System Folder:Control Panel, set the maximum data rate you want then turn it on and restart your Mac. Please notice that the data rate you set is just an approximate value. CDRead is NOT accelerated for Power Mac because itﾕs purpose is to slow down the speed. So remember to turn it off when you are not testing.
